Vote COBRAMA for president in 2012

By Brittany Yurkovitch on 7/26/2012

Thank goodness it is summertime because teaching government and economics to public high school students is becoming more difficult everyday. It seems like every Friday or holiday our dear leader signs another terrifying executive order. Sometimes I feel like I am teaching a fictional literature course because the Constitution is only a figment of our collective imagination.

Indefinite detention of civilians and a takeover of the nation’s factors of production are only a few of the many executive orders created by our Constitutional Scholar in Chief. Perhaps I am being too harsh on the man. After all, Bush and others before him certainly adored violating the checks and balances process as well. However, there is something incredibly ominous about a president sealing all his records and unilaterally dictating how the economy should run in an “emergency.” I’m fairly certain Romney would also abuse his presidential power as well.

While the state of our union seems fragile and depressing, I am confident that good will prevail over evil. Things that cannot go on forever won’t.
